December 26, 2025We had such a brilliant time, even if we did struggle to escape, all part of the fun! Great for mixed ages; we went as a family with a 12 year old as the youngest and a 68 year as the oldest. All enjoyed it immensely and are up for going back to escape from another one of the rooms. Dan was very welcoming and funny. Thanks again! -

January 6, 2026We took on the challenge of The Deeds with my husband, 11 and 14 year old daughters. We also brought our Jack Russell along too. On arrival the host was immediately in character, engaging and very accommodating with our dog. He explained these rooms were different to normal escape rooms as they do not have locks. It’s one to be aware of as you need to enter open minded. The design from externally as you approach the room to inside was fantastic. I won’t spoil wha happens next but will say if your children are frightened easily perhaps choose a different room. That being said it was brilliant, engaging all the way through, interactive, very much aligned to the story and our host supported with clues as and when asked. We left with dateline flowing and looking forward to a return visit. Sadly we didn’t complete in time but was a must if staying near Okehampton. -

August 19, 2025Just stepped out of The Deeds as a family of 4 (15yr, 12 yr) and everyone agreed this is best one we've played! Very atmospheric, brilliant gameplay and extra clues if needed, and we did but we escaped with 43 seconds spare! Host was brilliantly charismatic, the game has charm, an eerie suspense and we will definitely be back for more. Thoroughly recommend! -

June 20, 2026I did the deeds escape room with my dad. I have never done a better escape room. Ive done over 15 escape rooms and nothing has beaten this one. Definitely the best escape room ever. Plus Dan (the owner and builder of rooms) was incredible. In costume, in character and a lovely person. It was very different to any other escape room as there were no padlocks and keys. It was very realistic, immersive and mind-boggling. I absolutely loved it and definitely recommend it! -

June 20, 2026Absolutely fantastic, original, unique and fully immersive.
£50 for 2 people which is in line with other escape rooms near me.
Myself and daughter had an attempt at The Deeds. (She is a very experienced room escapist)
Different in that there are no keys, pad locks, combination locks. So we needed to look at this one from a different perspective. BTW look out for a few jump scares.
Dan the host was excellent in costume with good info. Look out for a few clues he gives you at the start.
Top notch -

October 26, 2025From beginning to end we all really enjoyed this experience. As a family group ranging from 20 to 90 years old we all got stuck in.
Dan the owner was perfect, in character and out. He was very informative and extremely tolerant!!
We didn’t manage to escape but had a lot of fun and laughter trying.
There are two more escape rooms which we will definitely try.
Thank you very much Dan -

July 16, 2026We did The Deeds escape room and, although we liked the theme and the puzzles, overall we were not impressed.
The games master was unhelpful and quite patronizing. From the start demanding that we told him how many escape rooms we had done in the past when we had already told him we don't know the number.
We asked for help at one point and the games master refused to give us a clue. He said he wouldn't give us the answer but we didn't ask him to. He could have told us which room or, as he mentioned as soon as he came in at the end, someone in our group had already spoken about what we were looking for. Why couldn't he have told us that when we still had time to try and complete the room? I have never been in an escape room before where you ask for help and it is refused.
I'm quite surprised that most of the reviews are so good on here, particularly as it seems like hardly anyone escapes. The poor review from another user in April 2023 reflects our experience as well and I think the games masters response to that just enforces their point on how condescending he is.
It's a shame because it was a good room, albeit it needs to be clearer what you can and can't touch, but the games master really lets it down. If we liked it we were going to go back and do one of the other rooms but none of us wanted to go back there.
